Scope
This policy explains how Yalla Focus handles information in the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch apps and on this website. Features may vary by device, operating-system version, region, and release.
Information stored on your device
Your tasks, focus history, courses, plans, rich notes, PDFs and annotations, notebooks and drawings, recordings and transcripts, links and embedded-web objects, flashcards, quizzes, garden progress, preferences, and Screen Time selections are stored locally by the app.
Screen Time selections are represented by opaque Apple tokens. Yalla Focus does not receive a readable list of the apps or categories you select.
Backups and Apple services
If you enable scheduled iCloud Drive backup or export a backup, Yalla Focus creates a versioned backup file containing your app data and attachments. The file is stored in the destination you choose or in your iCloud Drive under your Apple account. This is file backup, not live CloudKit database sync.
Apple controls iCloud, App Store purchases, notifications, Calendar, Screen Time, camera, microphone, speech recognition, widgets, Live Activities, and related system services under Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
Permissions you choose
- Notifications: to alert you when focus, break, or review time ends.
- Calendar: read-only access to display Apple Calendar events in your study timeline.
- Screen Time: to block apps you select during strict focus.
- Microphone and speech recognition: to record audio and create transcripts when you ask.
- Camera and photos: to add material you select to notes and notebooks.
You can change permissions in iOS Settings. Denying an optional permission only disables the feature that needs it.
On-device AI and embedded websites
Where supported, Yalla Focus uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models to turn selected study material into flashcards, quizzes, or summaries. The selected source is processed on the device by the operating system and is not sent to a Yalla Focus server.
If you open or interact with a website embedded in a notebook, that website receives ordinary web requests and may collect data under its own privacy policy. Yalla Focus does not control third-party websites.
Purchases and subscriptions
Apple processes payments and keeps your payment details. Yalla Focus uses RevenueCat to validate purchases and determine whether Yalla Focus Pro is active. RevenueCat may process an app-generated customer identifier, product and transaction identifiers, entitlement status, country/store information, and technical purchase diagnostics. We do not receive your full card or bank details.

Website and optional online features
If you join the website launch list, the email address you enter, your selected language, and the submission time are sent to Firebase so we can send product-launch updates. You can unsubscribe or request deletion by emailing us.
If an online study-room feature becomes available and you choose to use it, Firebase may process an anonymous account identifier, room code, display name, membership, focus status, and online presence so the room works. Other members in that room can see the name and status you share.

Your controls
You can review and edit your content in the app, export a backup, disable scheduled backup, revoke permissions, manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple, and clear local app data. To request access to or deletion of information we control—such as a launch-list email—contact us from the same email address.
Security, children, and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Yalla Focus is a general study tool and is not knowingly directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to digital services in their country. If you believe a child submitted personal information to us, contact us.
Apple, Google, and RevenueCat may process information in countries other than yours using the safeguards described in their policies.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate in-app or website notice.
